Danvers man to serve two years for stealing purse
DANVERS — A Danvers man will spend two years in jail after admitting to a violent purse snatching from a 67-year-old woman outside a convenience store last February. Patrick McCarthy, 20, formerly of 60 N. Putnam St., pleaded guilty to reduced charges of larceny from a person over 60 and assault and battery on a person over 60 during a hearing yesterday in Salem District Court.
